Canada's first web 2.0 platform for agri-food has been launched
St.Hyacinthe, July 7th, 2010 – INITIA Foundation is pround to announce its participative and interactive web 2.0 platform specifically designed for agri-food science and technology . On June 16th, during the 16th Annual Dinner, INITIA Foundation gave a live demonstration of this new social network capabilities.
Throughout our website integrated database, www.initia.org promotes communication and enhances the visibility of over 4000 industrial professionnals and scientists. With this tool, INITIA Foundation's community is now able to defy the distance via discussion forums, share its experiences with our web seminars, internationalize their know-how and build patnerships using our blog. The website will be fully translated by the end of 2010.
During the last Annual General Meeting, Mr. Sylvain Fournaise, President of INITIA Foundation's Board of Directors and Vice President, Food Safety and Technical Services at Olymel S.E.C. / L.P. quoted : ''The arrival of our web 2.0 platform on the agri-food scene is a turning point for the development of all food science and technology sectors. This network has been developped to benefit the industry and researchers. It also represents a wonderful opportunity to facilitate the globalization of food markets.''
Furthermore, INITIA Foundation announced the creation of the ''Étincelle du Savoir'' Award to acknowledge the excellence in food science. Eligibility criterias and call for applications will be made public soon.
